Our management team works hard to ensure that everything we do as an organisation is in the best interests of the farmers we represent. The Falkland Islands Meat Company strategy and policy is developed by our Board which is comprised of both the farming and non-farming sectors, providing sound business and industry direction. The board works closely with the Department of Agriculture, the Veterinary Department and the Falkland Islands Government.

Michael Ledwith, Managing Director
Michael brings forty years of experience and knowledge in the Food, specifically Red Meat, Industry, from across Europe and Africa, dealing with the different circumstances particular to each area. Having operated at all levels throughout his career, Michael joined the Falkland Island Meat Company in January 2018, with the brief:
To develop the long term strategic business plan alongside the Board of Directors and implement this plan for the Falkland Island Meat Company over a two year period, taking into account the unique factors that influence the running of an Export Meat business in such a remote area of the World.
Donna Casey, Quality Assurance Manager
Donna Casey joined the Falkland Islands Meat Company in June 2018 as Quality Assurance Manager. Donna has spent her career in the food industry, working initially as a graduate trainee for Rank Hovis McDougall.
Following five years with Rank Hovis McDougall she was, employed by HJ Heinz at their London site as a production Manager. She moved to Heinz, Kitt Green as a Factory planner when the London site was closed. Her career at HJ Heinz spanned 18 years, where she has gained knowledge and experience across the HJ Heinz business.
